WILLEMSTAD - The Seven Brasil platform in Caracas Bay will be moved on another ship starting today. The maritime operation is expected to last several days, the Harbor Master reports.
The operation concerns the semi-submersible vessel Hua Rui Long, which sails under the Chinese flag. The ship is here to load the platform currently moored at Caracas Bay en route to Singapore.
The task of a semi-submersible ship is to partially submerge at sea. Tugs will provide support to place the platform on the deck of the ship. Six tugs and four mooring boats are involved in this operation and are coordinated under the supervision of the Harbor Master.
Swimmers, boats and other forms of recreation on the water are requested to keep sufficient distance from the ships where the operation will take place.
