WILLEMSTAD - Contractors have begun maintenance on the tall Washingtonia palm trees along Pater Eeuwensweg. The leaves of the palm trees have completely dried out, posing a hazard to traffic in the area.
The pruning work started on Thursday and aims to improve safety by removing the dried leaves. The maintenance is expected to take four days to complete. During this period, part of the road will be closed, and drivers are urged to exercise extra caution when passing through the area.
The maintenance work is essential not only to ensure traffic safety but also to enhance the overall appearance of the road. Authorities have advised road users to anticipate possible delays while the work is being carried out.
This effort is part of a broader initiative to maintain public spaces and ensure the safety of Curaçao’s roadways.
