WILLEMSTAD - The air traffic control tower at Curaçao International Airport is set to undergo maintenance soon, which will include the replacement of the tower windows. A spokesperson for Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) confirmed this.
Several airport staff members had reported the deteriorating condition of the windows in the control tower, raising concerns that the personnel might not have a clear view of the runway.
“The maintenance of the tower windows is part of the regular upkeep process that is routinely carried out,” said the spokesperson. The special windows have already been ordered, and the replacement work is expected to start in September.
According to the CAP spokesperson, these works will not affect the airport's regular safety operations.
