WILLEMSTAD - The Maritime Operations Center (MOC) of the Coast Guard detected a suspicious vessel south of Curaçao on Monday. Two vessels were observed lying alongside each other, and one of them started sailing towards the island. In response to this discovery, the MOC immediately dispatched a Metal Shark from the Coast Guard to intercept the suspicious vessel. Upon reaching the vessel, the coast guards found several individuals on board, believed to be involved in human smuggling.
The local boat, accompanied by the patrol boat, was escorted to the Coast Guard jetty. Once there, a thorough inspection of the vessel was conducted by the coast guards. On board, they discovered two local men and an underage Venezuelan girl. The three individuals have been handed over to the Curaçao Police Force for further investigation into this case.
