WILLEMSTAD – The Koraal Specht sports field has been equipped with lighting for the first time. During evening hours, the new lighting system was tested, confirming that all floodlights are functioning properly. The test was conducted using a generator, as the field has yet to be connected to the electric grid. Now that the lighting has been successfully tested, a request will be submitted to Aqualectra to finalize the permanent electrical connection.
The next phase of the sports field renovation is the installation of grass. This step was temporarily postponed to prevent damage to the surface during the installation of the heavy light poles. The grass for the field was already ordered in December 2024 and is ready for placement.
The grass installation will begin in the week of March 23, starting with Stadion Antoine Maduro of SUBT, followed by the Koraal Specht field. The specialist responsible for supplying and installing the grass will be available during that period and will complete both locations. If everything goes according to plan, work on both fields will be finished by King’s Day, April 27.
