WILLEMSTAD - On Wednesday 12 February the well-known author and scientist Brede Kristensen will give the first Mongui Maduro Lecture of 2020. The title of the lecture will be:

“Why a healthy society needs good literature and active readers.”

In his lecture Dr. Kristensen explains how important good literature is for the development of human knowledge and self-knowledge. He will illustrate his thesis with examples from various Curaçao novels and from world literature.

The theme of the lecture is closely related to Kristensen's latest book “Caribisch enigma”. It promises to be a very exciting and thought-provoking evening. The lecture will take place on Wednesday 12 February at 7 pm at the Mongui Maduro Library on the Rooi Catootje estate.
