WILLEMSTAD - Over 100 psychologists from 22 different countries have come to our island this week to participate in the 4th annual World Conference on Personality Psychology. The event took place at the University of Curaçao, with local coordination led by Dr. Odette van Brummen-Girigori. The aim of the conference is to bring together personality psychologists, students, professionals, and policymakers from countries such as Japan, Germany, England, and Sweden. In addition to the conference, participants also have the opportunity to explore much of our island.
During the conference, organized in collaboration with the World Association for Personality Psychology (WAPP), various perspectives on personality within diverse cultures were presented, and discussions were held on how to encourage collaboration across cultural boundaries. The opening ceremony was officially inaugurated by the Rector Magnificus of the UoC, Dr. Francis de Lanoy, in the presence of the Vice President of the WAPP organization, Prof. Dr. Boris Mlacic.
