WILLEMSTAD - There is still no clarity about the nuisance permit for the new operator of the refinery, the Klesch Group. That is according to Peter van Leeuwen of the environmental organization SMOC un a recent interview.

The owner of the refinery installations, the Refineria di Korsou (RdK) receives the same nuisance permit that PDVSA had used for more than 20 years. This prevented them from adhering to stricter environmental standards.

According to Van Leeuwen, it is not yet clear whether Klesch will continue with this nuisance permit.
