WILLEMSTAD - Towing company Kompania di Tou Korsou (KTK) has signed a concession with the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB). Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) announced this in a press release.
The Bonairean subsidiary KTB will provide towage services in the ports of Bonaire for the next five years. The company was founded in 2018 from the idea that the island itself should have its towage services.
Since the closure of the Isla refinery, KTK has been looking for alternative sources of income. The tugboat Ola will be stationed in Bonaire. Captain Dime takes care of the local crew.
According to Minister Ruisandro Cijntje of Economic Development (MEO), this important milestone forms the basis for further commercial cooperation between the islands.
