WILLEMSTAD, SCHIPHOL - The Dutch aviation company KLM will send airplanes to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao starting this Monday to pick up stranded passengers on the islands, the airline reports.
Due to travel restrictions on Curaçao, flights are currently being operated to bring travelers from Curaçao to the Netherlands. The travel restrictions were introduced on Friday after one person was tested positive for the coronavirus on the island.
Flights from other places in Europe to Curaçao are also suspended. According to the government of Curaçao, this involves approximately twenty flights a week from the Netherlands, from KLM and TUI.
The flights from Bonaire and Aruba go according to KLM as planned. But from Amsterdam only residents of the islands can fly to Bonaire and Aruba.
