SCHIPHOL – KLM has announced that more than one hundred flights will be canceled on Wednesday morning, September 10, between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. due to a strike by ground staff. The cancellations are expected to affect at least 27,000 travelers. The airline has warned that delays could continue for another two to three days even after the strike ends.
A spokesperson for KLM emphasized that all passengers on canceled flights will be rebooked as quickly as possible onto the next available flight.
Caribbean Routes Remain Unaffected
For now, travelers heading to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom can breathe a sigh of relief. Flights from Amsterdam to Aruba and onwards to Bonaire, as well as the direct service to Curaçao, are still scheduled to depart on time. No delays have been reported on these routes, and KLM expects them to remain unaffected by the strike.
The strike highlights ongoing labor tensions at Schiphol Airport, where ground staff are pressing for better working conditions and pay, sparking widespread disruption across the airline’s European and international network.
