WILLEMSTAD - Due to the developments around the Covid-19 virus that continues and causes a lot of uncertainty, the King's Games will not continue this year.
Although we were confident that this would pass quickly, the organization does not consider it responsible and appropriate to organize the sporty Orange event.
Given that the organization of King's Games lies primarily with each country, the 8th edition King's Games in Curaçao was planned on Friday 24 April. And although most sports packages have already arrived and we did not want to deprive the children of a pleasant sports day, we had to stop the activities in Curaçao due to the situation and the 'lockdown'.
“Of course, we find it very unfortunate, but public health is paramount. For all schools, sports organizations and volunteers who have already started organizing the King's Games: many thanks for your efforts. We really appreciate that,” says coordinator Mavis Albertina.
This year, a record number of primary schools with respectively more than 18,000 children registered for the King's Games.
The next edition of the King's Games will take place in April 2021.
