WILLEMSTAD – Students from across the Kingdom of the Netherlands can now apply for the 2025 Kingdom Scholarship, a unique opportunity that enables participants to take part in a study exchange or internship lasting two to six months either in the Netherlands or on one of the six Caribbean islands. The application deadline is May 14. 

The scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled in recognized educational programs at MBO level 3/4, HBO, and university (WO) levels. Caribbean students are eligible for funding of up to €5,900 to help cover travel, accommodation, and living expenses. 

Lottery-Based Selection 

The number of scholarships varies by island and will be awarded through a lottery system. Interested students can find more information or apply through the official website:

Promoting Equal Opportunities 

The Kingdom Scholarship is part of a broader initiative to enhance academic success and promote equal opportunities within the Kingdom. By enabling students to experience education in a different part of the Kingdom, the program aims to build stronger inter-island and intercontinental ties. 

The Strategic Education Alliance (SEA) has been tasked by the ministers of education from Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands to implement this initiative over the next three years, with a specific focus on improving outcomes for Caribbean students.
