Kingdom Countries Unite for Climate Action at CCEC 2025 in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – This week, Curaçao is the center of international cooperation, sustainable energy, and climate action. On Monday, May 26, the Caribbean Climate & Energy Conference (CCEC) 2025 officially kicked off with a key moment: the four countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands presented their joint climate plans. The session also included a review of the progress made under the Kingdom Agenda.

During the event, the Prime Minister of Curaçao and the Dutch Minister for Climate and Green Growth, Ms. Sophie Hermans, expressed strong confidence in the collaborative approach. The atmosphere was described as constructive and ambitious—sending a clear message that the Kingdom countries are determined to face climate challenges together.

Later that evening, Curaçao officially inaugurated its new wind farm at Koraal Tabak, marking a significant step toward a more sustainable future.

Today and tomorrow, May 27 and 28, the official conference continues at the Renaissance Hotel in Willemstad. Ministers and delegates from around ten countries are in attendance to share knowledge, experiences, and visions for the future regarding climate resilience and renewable energy across the Caribbean region.
