WILLEMSTAD - On February 2, Willem-Alexander mints the first Willemstad five guilder in Curaçao. A commemorative coin created for 25 years of UNESCO World Heritage.
The king is in Curaçao at that time because of his daughter Amalia's introductory visit to the Caribbean islands.
The coin was designed by the Curaçao artist Cleo de Brabander. The Royal Dutch Mint will be present in Curaçao from Wednesday 1 February in preparation. The silver coin costs 49.95 euros.
In addition to the silver-proof five guilders, the Willemstad ten guilders 2023 Gold Proof will also be issued that day. The reverse of this coin shows some important monuments in Willemstad and has a limited edition of 800 pieces. This gold coin costs 545 euros.
