WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Soccer Federation has appointed Mr. Khalid Sinouh as the next Technical Director of the men's national soccer team of Curaçao. This decision is part of the efforts by the FFK leadership to qualify Curaçao for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The new Technical Director of Curaçao has various tasks to fulfill, and one of the most crucial tasks is to secure a new coach for the national men's team.
Negotiations with Mr. Dick Advocaat to become the next coach are already underway, as announced by FFK in its communication on January 3rd. It is now up to Mr. Sinouh to finalize the negotiations and appoint the new coach according to the FFK directive's request.
In addition to appointing a coach, Mr. Sinouh is tasked with strengthening the national men's team alongside the new coach. The goal is to achieve success in the second and third rounds of qualification for the 2026 Concacaf World Cup, scheduled to begin in June 2024.
The responsibilities of the Technical Director of Curaçao include not only the appointment of a coach but also the selection of scouts, technical and medical staff. Furthermore, Mr. Sinouh is responsible for finalizing their work contracts if necessary. Additionally, logistical tasks such as travel arrangements, daily expenses, and accommodation fall under his purview. The recruitment of potential players is also part of the Technical Director's duties, along with creating reports to inform the FFK leadership about developments.
Soon, FFK will hold a press conference to introduce both the new Technical Director and, in turn, present the coaching and medical staff for the national men's football team of Curaçao.
