KEM Party Nominates Dayanara Chin-A-Lien Roozendaal as Candidate for SOAW Minister

WILLEMSTAD – The political party Kòrsou Esun Mího (KEM) has officially nominated Dayanara Chin-A-Lien Roozendaal as their candidate for Minister of Social Development, Labor, and Welfare (SOAW). The announcement was made on Saturday during the news program Tribuna Popular on Radio Hoyer and has since been confirmed by additional sources.

Roozendaal, currently the interim Secretary-General of the Ministry of SOAW, is the second nominee put forward by KEM after Joan Mauricia withdrew her candidacy in late December due to personal reasons and frustrations with the lengthy screening process.

Previously, another candidate, Jason Fullinck, also stepped back. Fullinck cited his decision as a way to protect his children's well-being and expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of the vetting procedure.

KEM has emphasized the importance of appointing a Minister for SOAW to advance their policy initiatives, particularly with the upcoming elections. “Having a leader in place is crucial to implementing the plans we have developed,” the party stated.

The nomination comes as KEM seeks to ensure the ministry's leadership is in place to address pressing social and labor issues while reinforcing its political agenda.
