WILLEMSTAD – Michelangelo ‘Lo’ Martines, the leader of the political party KEM (Kòrsou Esun Mihó), remains in custody following suspicions of drug trafficking and money laundering.
Martines was informed on Monday whether he would be released, while the ongoing legal proceedings concerning his case continue.
The political leader was arrested on November 5 as part of the ongoing criminal investigation, BLEDA, which has been underway for over a year. The investigation is focused on large-scale criminal activities.
The alleged criminal offenses are said to have occurred in 2019, 2020, and 2023.
