WILLEMSTAD - Jurrangelo Cijntje has been selected by the Seattle Mariners during the MLB Draft. The team from the U.S. state of Washington had the fifteenth pick in the talent pool and chose the 21-year-old pitcher who grew up in Curaçao. Cijntje was highly regarded for his ability to throw over 150 kilometers per hour with both arms. Last year, he played college baseball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.  

The baseball player was previously selected in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers but declined the offer to pitch for Mississippi State.
