WILLEMSTAD - It was too warm in July for this time of year. The Meteorological Service announced this in a monthly overview.
Normally, the average temperature in July should be 28.6 degrees Celsius. This year, it was more than half a degree higher, averaging 29.2 degrees Celsius. There was also more rainfall than usual for this time of year. According to the weather service, 24.8 to 33.5 millimeters of rainfall is expected, but last month, 38.2 millimeters fell.
On Tuesday, the Meteorological Service issued a warning for high temperatures, but it was later withdrawn. August is known to be a hot month, just like September and October, which lie ahead.
