WILLEMSTAD – The computer network system of the Joint Court of Justice has been offline since last Thursday, and the cause of the outage is still unknown. Authorities are currently investigating whether the disruption may be the result of a cyberattack.
In an official statement, the Court indicated that the exact nature of the issue remains unclear and that the systems have not yet been restored.
Limited Services Resume at Island Courthouses
As an initial response, several court counters on the islands have been partially reopened to continue providing limited services. On Friday, desks in Curaçao and Sint Maarten resumed operations, followed by Bonaire on Monday.
Aruba is expected to reopen its judicial counters on Tuesday, while services in Saba and Sint Eustatius are scheduled to follow next week.
The Joint Court of Justice serves all six islands of the Dutch Caribbean, and the outage has impacted case management, digital filings, and administrative functions. The Court has not yet confirmed when full digital services will be restored.
