WILLEMSTAD - The demand from the gas station owners' associations Copda and Asogas to demolish the new gas station at the landfill has been rejected by the judge.
According to Copda and Asogas, the construction of the pumping station along the Weg naar Wespunt is illegal. Sebier Attaf and his companies St. Helena Pompstation nv, Pabow Real Estate bv and Three Stars Private Foundation do not have the correct permits. It is said that the gas stations were also supported by Vanddis.
During the hearing, it turned out that Attaf did indeed have a business permit. The government also stated on the basis of a reference with drawings that the gas station was not built on government property, as Copda and Asogas claimed.
The judge concluded that the building permit has been revoked, but that the internal documents are in order. The license was only withdrawn in order to satisfy the principle of reasoning after all. According to the judge, it is obvious that a building permit will again be issued.
