Joint Court of Justice Provides Update on Network Outage; Data Remains Secure

WILLEMSTAD – The Joint Court of Justice has issued an official update regarding the recent network problems that affected its operations. According to the Court, hearings have continued as much as possible, while system restoration efforts are actively underway.

The update follows a previously reported network outage, traced back to a virus discovered last Wednesday. As a precaution, the Court's entire IT system was temporarily taken offline to prevent further damage and ensure data protection.

Data Remains Safe

Although the exact cause of the virus is still under investigation, the Court has confirmed that all stored data remains secure and uncompromised. There has been no loss of critical judicial records.

Services Resume Across the Islands

Court service counters on Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and Bonaire are now open to the public once again. Saba and Sint Eustatius are expected to follow by next week, allowing full restoration of services across all six islands under the jurisdiction of the Joint Court.

At this time, it is unclear whether the Court’s network issue is connected to the recent malware attack targeting the Curaçao Tax Office, which occurred around the same period.

The Court assures the public that it is working diligently with IT professionals to restore full functionality, while continuing its commitment to access to justice and operational transparency.
