THE HAGUE – Jesse Six Dijkstra of the Nieuw Sociaal Contract (NSC) party is expected to become the new chair of the Dutch Parliamentary Committee on Kingdom Relations. He is set to replace party colleague Femke Zeedijk, who resigned from parliament in November amid allegations of racist remarks by government officials.

Dijkstra, 29, resides in Utrecht and is a former cybersecurity expert for the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD). He has been a member of the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) since December 6, 2023.
Previously active in the youth wing of the ChristenUnie party, Dijkstra is regarded as an expert in artificial intelligence. In parliament, he serves as the NSC spokesperson for topics including digitization, the information society and government, the digital economy, national security, and criminal justice. However, his resume does not indicate prior experience or involvement with the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.
The Parliamentary Committee on Kingdom Relations will hold a constitutive meeting this Wednesday to officially appoint its new chairperson.
