SANTO DOMINGO – Curaçao tennis player Jean‑Julien Rojer has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Copa Cap Cana doubles tournament together with Brazilian partner Marcelo Melo.
The pair secured their place in the last eight after defeating the French duo of Luca Sanchez and Arthur Raymond in the second round. Rojer and Melo won the match in straight sets, both by a score of 7-5.
For the 44-year-old Rojer, the result marks his second consecutive tournament reaching the quarterfinal stage. Just a few weeks ago, he also reached the quarterfinals of the Chile Open doubles competition alongside Ecuadorian partner Gonzalo Escobar.
Rojer and Melo are scheduled to face the German duo of Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner later today for a place in the semifinals.
