"Is That All?" The 22nd Annual Female Leadership Conference in Curaçao

Local | By Press release April 2, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – The 22nd consecutive Annual Female Leadership Conference, an event running consecutively since 2004, will be held this year on May 30. The theme, "Is That All?", invites participants to reflect on what success means for female leaders and whether there is more to strive for beyond achievements.

This focus was inspired by the insights and discussions from the previous 21 conferences. It seeks to address a recurring realization many accomplished women face—questioning whether their professional and personal successes truly fulfill their aspirations.

This exploration is equally relevant for recent graduates, mid-career professionals, and those nearing the culmination of their careers.

Event Highlights

Preparations are underway to ensure an impactful and inspiring experience for attendees. The event aims to empower participants—particularly those feeling uncertain—to take bold steps toward the next phase of their journey, regardless of their current stage in life.

Keynote speaker sessions are being finalized, with details to be announced shortly. Additionally, this year will feature two significant recognitions:

1.      The 21st Outstanding Woman Award: Honoring a Caribbean-born woman over 60 whose professional accomplishments have positively impacted others.

2.      The Margaret Star Award: A motivational prize acknowledging the ambition and achievements of a young, aspiring leader.

3.       Celebration and Retreat: This year's conference will culminate in a transformative three-day retreat, offering attendees opportunities for self-reflection, exploring challenges, and envisioning future possibilities.

Reflections and Purpose

Initiator and organizer Reyna Joe looks back on the first 21 conferences with pride, noting how these events have shown the profound impact real female leaders have within their communities—often without fully recognizing their contributions.

The conference was originally inspired by the stories and struggles of educated women who were unable to realize their full potential. It aims to help women succeed not only professionally but also emotionally, financially, and in overall well-being—particularly as many juggle their roles as primary caregivers.

In these challenging times, nurturing stable, empowered professionals is vital, and this conference continues to pave the way for meaningful change.
