WILLEMSTAD - The investigation into the wastewater at Rif (Otrabanda) must be completed within eight months. This was announced by the Minister of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning Zita Jesus-Leito.

Recently it appeared that there is no wastewater purification system in the new hospital and that this is dumped in the sea near Rif. An investigation into the quality of this water would actually take place within two years, but the minister believes that this takes too long.

The Rif is a protected natural area with mangroves.
