WILLEMSTAD - Starting this month, the digital insurance certificate for vehicles will be introduced. As a result, drivers will have digital access to their proof of insurance via their mobile phone. This will facilitate checks in traffic and at the authorities. Forensys, CRS, Roadside Assistance 24/7, the recipient, and the police can scan the QR code of the insurance certificate using an app and immediately view all data. In this way, the validation process will run efficiently and the cooperation between insurers and the government will be further streamlined. The digital pass is drawn up by the insurer and can be easily downloaded on the phone of the insured. The pass is always accessible even without an internet connection.

This project was realized on the initiative of the insurers in collaboration with the authorities.

First, the digital insurance certificate is introduced by a number of parties, namely Guardian Group Fatum, ENNIA, Citizens Insurance, Seguros Brouwer and BSure. They want to promote the further digitization of Curaçao so that our island can profile itself even better in these new times.

In the future it will be possible to make other data, such as inspection data and information about claim-free years, accessible via the same system.

Other insurance providers will also join this initiative in the short term.

This is a project that has been developed and will be further led by the Curaçao company INSight Insurance Platform.
