Internet company faces service outage due to vandalism near Julianabrug

WILLEMSTAD - On Tuesday morning, an internet service provider experienced a complete disruption of services in neighborhoods near the Julianabrug due to an act of vandalism. 

According to reports, vandals severely damaged overhead cables, causing significant harm to the essential equipment responsible for maintaining internet access. As a result, residents in the affected areas were left without internet for nearly 24 hours. 

Technicians worked throughout the night, diligently attempting to repair the damage. Efforts to restore the connection continued late into the evening, with teams focusing on reestablishing internet access for the affected households. 

Authorities have underscored the importance of safeguarding critical infrastructure to prevent similar incidents in the future. They stressed that acts of vandalism not only disrupt services but also impose a heavy burden on resources and cause major inconveniences for residents. 

In the wake of the outage, local officials are encouraging community vigilance and cooperation to protect public infrastructure and avoid further damage that could lead to more widespread service disruptions.
