WILLEMSTAD – The film industry in Curaçao is set to receive an international boost as Stage 32 will officially begin certifying local filmmakers and crew members in collaboration with the Curaçao Film Office.
As a first step, the platform will host a free webinar for the local film community on Monday, February 23. During the online session, filmmakers and industry professionals will learn more about the available certification programs, professional training opportunities and potential career pathways within the global film and television industry.
Participants in the webinar will receive a 50 percent discount on all Stage 32 certifications and related webinars.
Professionalization and Global Access
Through these certifications, participants gain access to training from international experts, online courses and a worldwide professional network within the film and television sector. The initiative aims to strengthen the professional development of local talent while enhancing Curaçao’s international profile as a film production destination.
According to Curaçao Film Commissioner Eloise van Wickeren, the collaboration creates significant opportunities for Caribbean filmmakers by facilitating stronger connections with international productions and co-productions.
The project is expected to contribute to the growth of the island’s creative sector and generate new economic opportunities by positioning Curaçao more prominently within the global audiovisual industry.
