WILLEMSTAD - Recently, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Hato, along with the Minister of Social Development, Labor, and Welfare, Mrs. Larmonie-Cecilia, signed a ministerial decree to enable international artists to perform in Curaçao between December 2023 and the end of the carnival season in 2024. International artists include any artist or musician who is not officially a resident of Curaçao but is registered in the civil registry as such.
According to the law, a ministerial decree must be issued each year to allow international artists to perform on our island during the so-called "high season." It is essential to emphasize that for every local event featuring international artists, there must be local artists or bands to represent our island, safeguarding our local entertainment scene.
It is crucial to note that petitions for all international artists must be submitted on time. It is advisable for promoters to arrange all necessary permits and pay relevant taxes well before starting the promotion of any event.
