WILLEMSTAD - The intended new operator of the Isla refinery Caribbean Petroleum Refinery (CPR) appears to have fabricated that the US intelligence service is involved in the investigation into the leak of takeover documents.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Pisas quoted in a debate with Parliament from a letter from CPR in which it is stated in so many words that the US Intelligence agencies and the Curaçao government are investigating the leak. No one except Pisas took that seriously and now CPR itself has retracted the claim. The company has hired private investigators.
Premier Pisas remains confident in CPR, even after a bank guarantee submitted by the company turned out to be forged.
