WILLEMSTAD - Wong Xing Supermarket on Santa Rosaweg has been forced to close by the Inspection of Economic Affairs due to various violations discovered during an inspection.
The inspection revealed several economic and hygiene violations, including numerous products on the shelves lacking price labels and fresh items without weight indications on their packaging. Furthermore, the supermarket was found serving alcoholic beverages at the counter without the necessary permit and selling expired toothpaste at a discounted price.
The inspection team also noted that the store's hygiene standards were well below the required levels. As a result, the supermarket will remain closed for a minimum of four days and can only reopen once all irregularities have been rectified.
