WILLEMSTAD - The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Economic Development, together with the police of Otrobanda, has dismantled an illegal casino in Veeris.
Upon entering the team found the players sitting around the table and playing poker with large sums of money. The Haitian owner of the location was unable to produce a permit. He did have a permit to operate a coffee house/restaurant.
The Inspectorate says it has more locations in its sights where illegal gambling is taking place and warns operators that they can also expect a visit.
