Inspection closes three restaurants in Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent October 2, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - Over the weekend, a multidisciplinary team consisting of Customs, Economic Inspection, and the Ministry of Public Health conducted inspections at various restaurants in the city. Out of the five establishments inspected, two complied with regulations, while three had to close their doors due to various irregularities.

At Perfect Bar Restaurant in Dein, violations were found, including the presence of a gambling machine and hygiene issues in the kitchen, leading to the immediate closure of the establishment.

A similar scenario unfolded at Entre Nos, located on Kolonelsweg. Here, the team discovered an expired liquor license and noted an unhygienic condition in the kitchen.

The team encountered more problems during their visit to Restaurant Cheng Garden on Van Krimpenlaan. Multiple violations, such as an expired customs permit, the presence of a gambling machine, unhygienic conditions in the kitchen, and confiscated unsealed cigarettes, resulted in the closure of this establishment.

However, there was also good news. Timy Restaurant on Gosieweg had everything in order and fully complied with the established rules, as did Wendel Bar Restaurant on the same Gosieweg. Both establishments were allowed to continue their activities without interruption.
