WILLEMSTAD, BOGOTÁ - Our community has a great need for affordable housing. Many citizens have the dream of having their own house, their own home. There are different ways to make this dream a reality. With this in mind, Minister Charles Cooper, together with Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP), is currently in Colombia in search of new and inspiring ideas for housing for the people.

During this trip, Minister Cooper and FKP have an intensive and impressive agenda. They are meeting with the President of CAMACOL, which stands for the Colombian Chamber of Construction. They also have a meeting with the Minister of Housing of Colombia, Mr. Catalina Velasco. This takes place in Bogotá.
Afterward, they will continue to Barranquilla, where they will visit a project for affordable housing. They will also meet with local government officials regarding housing matters. An additional visit will be made to the "Mi Casa Ya" project.
When returning to Bogotá, they will visit housing projects for the people in Bogotá itself, followed by a meeting with ASOBANCARIA, which is the association of banks and financial institutions in Colombia. The goal is to gain a clear view of how to work together with local banks to finance large housing projects.
There will also be meetings with major construction companies to analyze how they handle major projects.
All of this is for the benefit of the people of Curaçao. They will return with ideas and concrete plans to be implemented in Curaçao, fulfilling the government's promise to address the housing needs of the people.
