Informational Sessions for Unions on the Digitalization of Education

WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (ESKD) held two informational sessions for unions related to the distribution of devices to teaching staff. These sessions, organized at the request of Minister Sithree van Heydoorn, were led by the project management team and the commission for education digitalization. The sessions were part of the ongoing digitalization initiative titled “Meet Me on the Road” (Topa Mi Riba e Ruta).

During the sessions, the management team and the president of the commission presented an updated roadmap on the project. The digitalization initiative has now reached the stage where devices will be distributed to teaching personnel. This phase is titled “Meet Me … at the Delivery … to Connect, focusing on key points such as the delivery process, security, responsibilities, privacy, agreements, and other essential topics.

Unions that were not able to attend the sessions have been invited to a follow-up meeting to ensure everyone is informed.

The project is being carried out in close collaboration with all eight subsidized school boards, which play an integral role in the process. Alongside various other stakeholders, the Ministry of ESKD is preparing to distribute the devices in a structured and orderly manner to all teaching personnel employed under the eight school boards. As representatives of teaching staff, it is essential for the unions to receive all relevant information.

Starting in June, the Ministry will launch an intensive information and awareness campaign, titled “Meet Me … at the Delivery … to Connect”, specifically aimed at teaching professionals. Every teacher, lecturer, and support staff member will receive a device designed to support their work in the classroom. This government-provided tool is intended to better prepare students for the modern world of the 21st century.

The Ministry of ESKD looks back on two successful informational sessions and encourages everyone to stay tuned to the official government channels for more updates on the digitalization of education.
