WILLEMSTAD – The number of insured vehicles on Curaçao saw an increase in 2024, reversing the decline observed the previous year. According to the annual market report by ForenSys and Struqtive on the island's insurance market, the total number of insured vehicles reached 87,518 in 2024. This is an increase of over 1,400 vehicles compared to 86,053 in 2023.
Guardian Group Fatum continues to dominate the market with 22,343 insured vehicles, maintaining a market share of over 25%. It remains the largest insurance company on the island.
Ennia ranks second, with 16,403 insured vehicles, although the company saw a loss of over 300 customers in the past year.
Other insurers have shown only limited shifts. For example, CG United & Massy United experienced a slight decrease, with 12,199 insured vehicles, while Citizens Insurance saw growth, reaching 9,222 insured vehicles.
Compared to previous years, the insurance market appears to be slightly recovering after years of decline. In 2020, there were over 90,000 insured vehicles, but the number had been steadily decreasing until this recent uptick.
