WILLEMSTAD - The clothing allowance for school-going children for the upcoming school year will be increased by one hundred guilders. Consequently, parents with eligible children will receive two hundred guilders per child in the second half of this month. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Social Development, Labor, and Welfare.
The payout will occur tomorrow, July 26. Parents and guardians with an income below the minimum wage can apply from August 1, 2024.
According to the policy, parents or guardians are eligible for the clothing allowance if they receive social assistance benefits or have an income below the minimum wage. The child must be registered in Curaçao's population register.
Children of foreign parents must have a valid residence permit and be registered in Curaçao's population register. Additionally, the child must be subject to the compulsory education law and attend a government-subsidized school, with an age range between 4 and 18 years old.
