WILLEMSTAD - The very first Kaya Kaya Art Week has kicked off, promising a week-long celebration of art. Starting today and running through Sunday, everyone has the opportunity to immerse themselves in artistry throughout Otrobanda. Around forty artists are showcasing their work in 29 houses spanning the entirety of Ser'i Otrobanda, from Breedestraat to beneath the Julianabrug. These "art houses" are open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and admission is free to all visitors.
Each evening, a special event will be hosted at one of the participating galleries. Today, the spotlight shines on music by DJ Grizzly in the Augusto J. Fraai street. This diverse showcase of artistic expression is an invitation to explore and experience the rich culture of Otrobanda through the eyes of its talented artists.
The Kaya Kaya Art Week provides a unique opportunity for residents and visitors alike to engage with the local arts scene, fostering a sense of community and appreciation for creativity. Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or simply curious about the world of art, this event promises something for everyone.
