WILLEMSTAD - Tax compliance in Curaçao has witnessed significant improvements as an increasing number of business owners are promptly submitting their sales tax (OB) revenues each month. According to the Ministry of Finance, during this current cabinet period, the figure of timely submissions has surged from 5,500 to over 7,000.
Minister Javier Silvania, representing the MFK party, lauded this achievement, attributing it to the collective efforts of various tax organizations. The successful outcome showcases the effectiveness of collaborative initiatives in bolstering tax compliance among entrepreneurs in the region.
“The rise in compliance is a crucial indicator of the commitment shown by businesses to fulfill their tax obligations on schedule. It not only strengthens the government's revenue stream but also demonstrates the active role of entrepreneurs in contributing to the country's financial stability,” said the minister.
