WILLEMSTAD - A coordinated immigration control operation carried out last weekend led to the detention of 12 undocumented women on the island. The joint action involved the Immigration Department of the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), INTERPOL, KPC units, and the VKC.
According to authorities, all 12 women were detained during two separate nighttime controls targeting illegal residence and unlawful activities. Following the operation, ten of the women were transferred to the immigration barracks to begin deportation procedures.
The remaining two were issued a “meldingsplicht” order, requiring them to report regularly to authorities while their cases are processed.
Immigration officials emphasized that these operations form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen border control, maintain public order, and ensure compliance with Curaçao’s immigration laws.
Further controls are expected as authorities continue monitoring areas known for illegal activity and undocumented residence.
