WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, February 19, around 3:00 PM, the Supervision and Enforcement Project Team (PTH) of the Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP) conducted inspections on various plots in the Duzu area, near Tera Cora.

Upon PTH's arrival, they discovered individuals working on a construction site and a concrete truck pouring cement to complete the concrete roof. Upon investigation, it was revealed that neither construction permits were granted nor was the land assigned to the individuals.
PTH immediately halted all work, instructing the concrete truck to cease pouring concrete and vacate the premises.
During the inspection, PTH identified a total of 10 additional illegal constructions in the area, placing warning signs indicating an immediate halt to all detected illegal constructions. Further investigations are underway. Various tools and materials found at different sites were also confiscated and placed in storage.
The individual at the site received a fine of 2500 guilders. This penalty is in accordance with Article 9, paragraph 4 of Curaçao's Island Development Plan (EOP), considering the indicated area falls under the conservation zone.
