Hurricane Fiona will cause high temperatures next week

Local | By Correspondent September 20, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The Meteorological Service Curaçao (Meteo) again predicts high temperatures for the coming days. The weather service expects the thermometer to touch 36 degrees on Wednesday.

The heat is caused by the wind being pulled away by Hurricane Fiona, which is currently raging through the northeast of the Caribbean. The hurricane is moving in a northwesterly direction and poses no threat to the ABC islands, according to the hurricane center in Miami.

The combination of weak wind, high humidity, and warm air causes extreme heat. The perceived temperature will be much higher due to the weather conditions. The weather service also expects thunderstorms and rain on Wednesday.
