HRDC Advocates for Better Support for Undocumented Students on Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – The Human Rights Defense Curaçao (HRDC) is intensifying its efforts to ensure better support and educational opportunities for undocumented students on the island.

Throughout July and August, HRDC is hosting a series of collaborative meetings with educators, legal experts, and civil society organizations. The goal is to develop concrete solutions for improving inclusion, legal pathways, and equal access to education within the Curaçao school system.

In collaboration with local schools, HRDC has established a referral structure to help families more quickly access legal assistance and guidance for their children.

The organization underscores that all children, regardless of their immigration status, have the right to education and the opportunity to earn a diploma. HRDC is calling on stakeholders to recognize the urgency of this issue and work together to uphold the rights and dignity of every child in Curaçao’s classrooms.
