How exactly is the Curaçao gambling licensing system?

WILLEMSTAD - You often read on the various review websites that an online casino has received a permit from the government in Curaçao. Many online casinos even dare to say that they have received a gaming license from the Curaçao government. You often read on the page of the casino 'regulated by Government of Curaçao' or 'licensed by the government of Curacao. Nothing of that is true.

The government does not provide any casino licenses to online casinos and online bookmakers. There are so-called four IP licenses in circulation on Curaçao. These are just data processing licenses for telecommunication companies. It consists of;

Antillephone N.V. which also operates under the name Gamings Licenses (sic). The license number of this company is 8048 / JAZ.

Curaçao eGaming: this company provides eGaming licenses, where eGaming refers to the name of the company and not to the purpose of the license. Curacao eGaming license number is 1668 / JAZ.

Curaçao Interactive Licensing N.V. under license number 5536 / JAZ.

Gaming Curacao N.V. under license number 365 / JAZ.

These companies are also called the master licensees. They provide the sub licenses. Master licensees sell complete packages to interested online casinos. The packages do not only consist of an IP license, but you also get web server services, accountancy services, tax advice and trust services.

When you purchase these services, you pay between € 2,000 and € 8,000 monthly as an online casino. That is relatively cheap.
