Local | By Press release June 21, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Minister Charles Cooper, along with the Urban Planning Service (ROP), has officially granted a construction permit to Grand Hill B.V. for the development of housing for the elderly in Curaçao.

The Grand Hill B.V. project consists of 48 residences designed for senior citizens, accommodating all stages of their lives. Residents can live independently or with support, guidance, and care provided by a professional team.

The facility will include a restaurant, a beauty salon, a physiotherapy practice, and much more. Grand Hill Resort aims to foster social and inter-generational exchange, creating a sense of community among the elderly. All this will take place in the Chango neighborhood.

This project marks a significant social contribution by stimulating the economic sector and creating job opportunities. Through its comprehensive services and facilities, the project will offer various employment opportunities in the care sector, hospitality, cleaning, and administrative functions. There will also be job creation during the construction phases.

Minister Charles Cooper expressed his satisfaction with the Grand Hill project, as it focuses on providing more housing in the eastern part of the island for this specific group of elderly people. The minister is convinced that this will provide an extra boost to the island. The construction involves an investment of 15 million and is expected to be completed by 2025.
