WILLEMSTAD - Maria Liberia-Peters will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Curaçao. Liberia-Peters is the kingdom's first longest-serving female prime minister.
Twice she was Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles on behalf of the National People's Party. From 1984 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1994. Only individuals who have made an exceptional achievement receive an honorary doctorate. Liberia-Peters will get hers on January 12.
