WILLEMSTAD - In the historic center of Punda, Willemstad a large, erupting fire raged last night in which two vacant retail properties were burned down.

The fire was so intense that the fire brigade from the Steenrijk, Mundo Nobo and Rio Canario districts had to be dispatched. Tugboats with waterspouts from the port were also used to extinguish the fire. The neighboring building of Freeport Jewelers has suffered fire damage

Luckily there were no injuries.
