Healthcare premium will not go up due to CMC

WILLEMSTAD - The health insurance premium is not going up due to the higher operating costs of the Curaçao Medical Center. This was announced by the Minister of Public Health Suzanne Camelia-Römer after questions from the media.

There were concerns about the premium increase and Camelia-Römer is still waiting for the audit of the government accountant’s bureau (SOAB). Once this second opinion is received, it will be sent to the Financial Supervision Board (CFT).

The burden will be included in the total change in healthcare costs, as a result of which the population itself will be spared, says the minister.
